Diogo Ayres-de-Campos

is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical School, University of Lisbon, Portugal, and Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of the Santa Maria University Hospital, and Medical School, Lisbon. His main scientific areas of interest are intrapartum fetal monitoring and obstetric simulation. He is a co-inventor of the “Omniview-SisPorto®” program for computer analysis of fetal monitoring signals (Speculum, Lisbon, Portugal, 2006), the clinical record database Obscare (Virtualcare, Porto, Portugal, 2002), and was the medical consultant for the development of the “Lucina®” obstetric simulator (CAE Healthcare, Montreal, Canada, 2014). With an h-index of 44, he has published more than 250 papers in Medline-indexed journals, edited 3 international books, and has given more than 350 invited lectures at international scientific meetings. He is the Immediate Past-President of the “European Association of Perinatal Medicine – EAPM”, and Executive Committee Member of the “European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynecology – EBCOG” . Between 2010 and 2018 he integrated the “Safe Motherhood and Newborn Health committee” at the “International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology – FIGO”, where he coordinated the 2015 revision of the “FIGO guidelines on intrapartum fetal monitoring”. He participated in the World Health Organisation consensus panels for “Recommendations on antenatal care” and “Intrapartum care and reduction of unnecessary caesarean section.

Inês Nunes

, MD, PhD

Portugal

is the Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Hospital Santos Silva in Gaia, Portugal, and an Associate Professor of Obstetrics at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. With an H-index of 12, she has published more than 30 papers in international Medline-indexed journals, has collaborated in one international books, and has given more than 100 lectures at national and international scientific meetings. She is currently the Chair of the Safe Motherhood and Postpartum Haemorrhage Committee at the International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FIGO), and a member of the Special Interest Group on Intrapartum Care, of the European Association of Perinatal Medicine (EAPM). She was the coordinator of the European Guidelines in Perinatal Medicine – Oxytocin for labor induction and augmentation, on behalf of the European Association of Perinatal Medicine and is the Chair of the Scientific Committee of the 8th European Congress on Intrapartum Care.

Georges-Emmanuel Roth

France

is a midwife since 2001, and currently the coordinator of the Research Unit at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Strasbourg University Hospital, as well as a lecturer and continuous training program designer at the University of Strasbourg.
His main area of interest is intrapartum fetal monitoring, and he has participated in several projects on the implementation of fetal ECG monitoring and development of training programs for CTG interpretation.
He is a member of a working group for the development of a national e-learning platform on CTG interpretation, according to the French College of Obstetrics and Gynecology guidelines. He is the co-chair of the Intrapartum Care special interest group at the EAPM.
His other fields of interest and research include care of sexual violence victims in obstetrics and infertility, reduction of unnecessary medicalization at birth, inclusion of the partner in the birthing experience, and use of acupuncture in obstetrics.
He has published 13 papers in national and international journals, collaborated in one national book, and has given more than 30 lectures in national and international scientific meetings.
